As a full-time specialist, your commitment of 35 hours per week ensures you can develop strong relationships and tailor your services to each child’s individual needs. Your expertise will empower students to thrive both academically and socially while helping create a more inclusive school community.
What you bring:
- Certification or credentialing as a Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist (or eligibility in the state)
- Experience working with students in the K-5 age group, preferably in school settings
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledge of a wide array of communication modalities
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with educators, families, and support staff
- Compassion and a student-focused approach to support optimal educational access
Key responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, and deliver specialized instruction and support for DHH students
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to foster inclusive learning environments
- Consult with families and provide resources to support student progress
- Track progress and maintain necessary documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to individualized plans
