What you’ll bring:

  • Valid certification or credential as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist or Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Experience working with children or adolescents in a school environment
  • Strong understanding of auditory support technology and assistive devices
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication methods for DHH students
  • Ability to collaborate with educators, administrators, families, and other service providers
  • Commitment to advocacy, accommodation, and equitable education practices

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Consult with classroom teachers about accommodations, accessibility, and best practices for DHH learners
  • Conduct ongoing assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust interventions as needed
  • Facilitate communication between students, staff, and families to support inclusion
  • Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation in a timely fashion
