Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) - Huntley, Illinois

Key Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) education
• Strong background in specialized instructional strategies for DHH students
• Proficiency with assistive technology and augmentative communication devices
• Effective collaboration skills with general educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Commitment to cultural and linguistic diversity within DHH populations
• Ability to design, implement, and adapt Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instructional services and support to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students across grade levels
• Develop and adapt curriculum to ensure access and engagement for DHH learners
• Conduct assessments and interpret results to guide individualized instructional strategies
• Advocate for accessibility and inclusivity throughout the educational environment
• Consult with teachers, staff, and parents on best practices and accommodations
• Offer training to school personnel on deaf awareness and effective communication strategies
• Maintain accurate records, progress data, and documentation for compliance and student growth
