Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Certification or credentials as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist or Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Previous experience working with elementary-aged students strongly preferred
- Familiarity with delivering services in a virtual/remote (VOCO) format
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to effectively collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to an elementary caseload of students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring accessibility and equal participation
- Develop and deliver individualized educational interventions and adaptations based on student needs
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expert recommendations on goals, accommodations, and modifications
- Consult with classroom educators and staff to support inclusion and success
- Maintain accurate records and progress documentation as required by best practices and contract guidelines
- Communicate regularly with families, guardians, and team members regarding student progress and strategies
