Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Certification or credentials as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist or Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Previous experience working with elementary-aged students strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with delivering services in a virtual/remote (VOCO) format
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and support to an elementary caseload of students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring accessibility and equal participation
  • Develop and deliver individualized educational interventions and adaptations based on student needs
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expert recommendations on goals, accommodations, and modifications
  • Consult with classroom educators and staff to support inclusion and success
  • Maintain accurate records and progress documentation as required by best practices and contract guidelines
  • Communicate regularly with families, guardians, and team members regarding student progress and strategies
