Key Qualifications:

• Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or eligibility to obtain certification
• Experience working with children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, preferably in a school-based setting
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication modalities, as needed
• Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and assistive technologies
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Compassionate, patient, and flexible approach to diverse learning needs

Core Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized instructional plans for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
• Adapt curriculum and create accessible resources to support diverse learners
• Provide direct instruction using evidence-based strategies, including sign language or other required forms of communication
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, administrators, and families
• Monitor student progress, maintain thorough records, and participate in IEP meetings
