Qualifications & Experience Sought:

  • Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or DHH Specialist
  • Experience supporting K-12 students with hearing impairments is strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with assistive technology, FM systems, and educational accommodations
  • Strong understanding of IEP processes and documentation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families
  • Flexible attitude to adapt to students’ needs and school culture

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction and direct support for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in classroom and 1:1 settings
  • Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
  • Advocate for inclusive practices, fostering an accessible and supportive learning environment
  • Consult with staff and families to share strategies and progress updates
  • Utilize assistive technology to maximize student participation
  • Conduct assessments and contribute to eligibility and progress meetings
  • Provide training and resources for staff regarding Deaf/Hard of Hearing learners
