Qualifications and Experience:

• Current certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or relevant state credentials
• Proven background in working with children or adolescents who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Strong knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication modalities
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Experience collaborating with multi-disciplinary education teams
• Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and advocacy skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support for students with hearing loss, ensuring access to the general education curriculum
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to fit each student’s abilities and learning styles
• Consult with classroom teachers and staff to modify lessons and support accommodations or assistive technologies
• Assess students’ progress and maintain thorough documentation related to their educational goals
• Offer resources and guidance to families, promoting understanding and participation in their child’s educational journey
• Attend IEP meetings, contributing specialized insight to help shape the best possible outcomes for students
