Step into a valued role supporting students as a Full Time Hearing Impaired Teacher serving K-8 school sites, including Developmental Preschool classrooms, in an engaging, collaborative educational environment. As an itinerant professional, you'll have the chance to make a tangible impact across 10 schools, partnering with educational teams and families to empower students with hearing impairments.

You'll be guided by strong knowledge of best practices for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) instruction and individualized student support. Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid certification as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist or related special education credential.
  • Experience teaching or supporting K-8 students with hearing impairments, including work in early childhood or Developmental Preschool settings.
  • Expertise in various communication approaches and assistive technology for DHH students.
  • Excellent skills in collaboration, organization, and flexibility to work across multiple campuses.
  • Commitment to maintaining thorough documentation and contributing to IEP processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Travel between 10 schools to provide direct instruction and consultation services for roughly 25 students at the start of the year.
  • Collaborate closely with general and special education staff, administrators, and families to develop and implement IEPs.
  • Deliver individualized and group interventions that meet each student’s learning and communication needs.
  • Support the integration of students into mainstream settings through classroom modifications, teacher guidance, and advocacy.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and maintain strong communication with all stakeholders.
