Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Massachusetts DHH (DESE) certification required; Special Education (SPED) certification considered if you have prior experience as a Teacher of the Deaf.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and adaptability skills.
  • Passion for personalized instruction and commitment to student success.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, accessible instruction tailored to the needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
  • Collaborate closely with general and special education staff, related service providers, and families.
  • Offer guidance on communication strategies, classroom accommodations, and assistive technology.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow best practices for documentation and reporting.
  • Foster an inclusive, nurturing classroom environment that supports language development and self-advocacy.
