Key Qualifications:

• Certified Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing or appropriate state licensure
• Experience working in school settings supporting students with hearing impairments
• Strong ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Knowledge of assistive listening technology and amplification devices
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
• Comfortable adapting instructional methods to meet student needs
• Familiarity with American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication methods preferred

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction and academic support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Collaborate with teachers and therapists to integrate specialized strategies within general education classrooms
• Conduct assessments and progress monitoring for students, ensuring personalized goals are met
• Advise staff on classroom modifications and the use of technologies to foster an accessible learning environment
• Liaise regularly with families regarding student progress and support strategies
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and professional development as required
