Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification with an endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Experience or coursework focused on supporting students with hearing loss
- Strong knowledge of auditory/oral, total communication, and sign language instructional strategies
- Excellent collaborative and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs)
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction for deaf and hard of hearing students, approximately 20 hours per week
- Collaborate with faculty, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student achievement
- Develop and implement strategies tailored to each learner’s communication needs
- Promote an inclusive classroom environment that encourages student confidence and participation
- Monitor progress and document student growth
