Key Qualifications:

• Hold current credentials as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or a relevant specialist license.
• Experience supporting students with hearing loss in elementary, middle, or high school settings.
• In-depth understanding of various assistive listening devices, amplification systems, and accessible communication strategies.
• Strong grasp of IEP development and implementation for students with hearing loss.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with families, educators, administrators, and related service providers.

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and consultation to meet individual student needs in accordance with IEPs.
• Assess students’ auditory and communication abilities, recommending appropriate accommodations and modifications.
• Foster accessible communication environments through support with sign language, oral methods, or technology.
• Partner closely with classroom teachers to adapt curriculum and instructional materials.
• Deliver training and resources to school staff to promote inclusion and accessibility best practices.
• Serve as a knowledgeable advocate and resource for students and their families, ensuring consistent and meaningful participation in all aspects of school life.
