Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) educator for the 2026-2027 academic year. This position offers a chance to make a meaningful impact, providing specialized instruction to a caseload of eight students ranging from PreK to 12th grade. Beginning August 10, 2026, and running through May 24, 2027, you’ll work between 30-40 hours per week, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to foster an inclusive and accessible learning environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid state licensure/certification to teach students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Experience in adapting curriculum and instruction for DHH students, preferably across a range of ages and developmental levels
- Strong skills in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other communication methods used within the DHH community
- Ability to assess student needs and design IEP goals, accommodations, and specialized strategies
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities for working with students, families, and school staff
- Patient, empathetic, and creative educator committed to student success
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans tailored to each student’s unique strengths and needs
- Provide direct and consultative services in academic, communication, and social domains
- Adapt materials and classroom environments to optimize learning and access for DHH students
- Partner closely with general education teachers and other service providers
- Foster an inclusive classroom where DHH students feel valued and supported
- Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and open communication with families
