Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid certification as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist or Licensed Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with PreK-12 grade students preferred
- Strong understanding of diverse communication modalities, including ASL and speech reading
- Excellent collaboration skills for coordinating with general education staff, families, and specialists
- Passion for individualized education and advocacy for students with hearing differences
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction tailored to the unique needs and strengths of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
- Develop, implement, and track progress on IEPs in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Adapt curriculum and assessments for accessibility, integrating assistive technology as needed
- Consult regularly with teachers, administrators, and families to ensure student success
