What We’re Looking For:
- Credentialed or eligible Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist
- Experience supporting students with hearing differences, preferably in elementary settings
- Strong understanding of assistive technology and individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Familiarity with sign language, auditory/oral methodologies, and communication support strategies
- Ability to collaborate with general education staff, families, and outside agencies
- Compassion, patience, and resourcefulness
- Ready to start immediately and commit through June 16, 2026
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and communication support to K-5 students with hearing impairments
- Conduct assessments and contribute to development and implementation of IEPs
- Serve as a resource to classroom teachers and school staff regarding accommodations, strategies, and accessibility
- Foster positive relationships with students, empowering them to grow socially and academically
- Collaborate regularly with parents and guardians to monitor progress and ensure ongoing support
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for compliance and student progress
