This contract role is designed to cover for a dedicated teacher currently on leave, offering you the unique chance to step in and provide essential services to students who need them most.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
  • Experience working with school-aged children who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Strong communication skills, including the use of American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
  • Flexibility and adaptability to address students' varying needs
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom setting

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to students’ IEP goals
  • Assess students’ abilities and monitor progress, adjusting strategies as needed
  • Consult with classroom teachers and staff to promote a fully accessible learning environment
  • Serve as a resource and advocate for students with hearing loss
  • Create engaging lesson plans that meet diverse communication and learning styles
  • Support students’ social-emotional growth and self-advocacy skills
