Support students in an educational setting as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist or Teacher focused on deaf and hard of hearing learners. There are seven immediate openings for motivated professionals eager to make a positive difference. This contract role offers a chance to collaborate with educators and families, using expertise to create accessible, inclusive learning environments.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Valid state certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education or related field
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Experience working in schools or educational programs supporting students with hearing loss
  • Ability to develop and tailor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills
  • Commitment to fostering student growth and self-advocacy

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction and support services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, and related service providers to adapt curriculum and materials
  • Assess and track student progress, adjusting strategies to meet individual needs
  • Provide training and resources to staff, families, and peers to enhance understanding of deaf/hard of hearing issues
  • Implement technology and classroom accommodations to promote equal access
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal development for students
  • Advocate for students and support their integration in the school community
