Key Qualifications:
- Certification and/or state licensure as a Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist
- Experience working with high school-aged students preferred
- Strong skills in virtual instruction and digital learning platforms
- Comfort with collaborative communication, partnering with families and school staff
- Deep understanding of advocacy, accommodations, and educational strategies for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Ability to independently develop and implement tailored support plans
Your Role Will Include:
- Providing specialized instruction and support virtually for a high school student
- Collaborating closely with the student’s educational team to ensure appropriate accommodations
- Monitoring and documenting the student’s progress, adapting strategies as needed
- Encouraging self-advocacy and developing essential skills for academic and social success
- Maintaining professional communication with educators, related service providers, and the student’s family
- Committing to 10 hours of service per week throughout the school year
