Key Qualifications:

  • Certification and/or state licensure as a Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist
  • Experience working with high school-aged students preferred
  • Strong skills in virtual instruction and digital learning platforms
  • Comfort with collaborative communication, partnering with families and school staff
  • Deep understanding of advocacy, accommodations, and educational strategies for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Ability to independently develop and implement tailored support plans

Your Role Will Include:

  • Providing specialized instruction and support virtually for a high school student
  • Collaborating closely with the student’s educational team to ensure appropriate accommodations
  • Monitoring and documenting the student’s progress, adapting strategies as needed
  • Encouraging self-advocacy and developing essential skills for academic and social success
  • Maintaining professional communication with educators, related service providers, and the student’s family
  • Committing to 10 hours of service per week throughout the school year
