You’ll work directly with a focused caseload of only eight students, all conveniently located at the district center, ensuring efficient use of your time and the ability to develop strong, individualized relationships.
This position serves K-5th grade students and extends from ASAP through June 16, 2026. Full-time hours are guaranteed at 35 hours per week. Compensation ranges from $40 to $50 per hour, reflecting your expertise and commitment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid certification or licensure in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education (or eligibility)
- Proven experience supporting K-5th grade students with hearing impairments
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and understanding of assistive listening devices
- Strong collaborative skills for working with teachers, families, and support staff
- Ability to create and adapt Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to elementary students with hearing loss
- Collaborate with educational staff to create inclusive classroom environments
- Advocate for student access, assistive technology, and necessary classroom accommodations
- Deliver training and consultation for teachers and parents to support communication strategies
- Document student progress and maintain compliance with educational laws and standards
