Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist - Virginia Beach, Virginia

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist. This role, based near Virginia Beach, revolves around making a meaningful impact within an elementary setting. You’ll work directly with a focused caseload of only eight students, all conveniently located at the district center, ensuring efficient use of your time and the ability to develop strong, individualized relationships.

This position serves K-5th grade students and extends from ASAP through June 16, 2026. Full-time hours are guaranteed at 35 hours per week. Compensation ranges from $40 to $50 per hour, reflecting your expertise and commitment.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid certification or licensure in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education (or eligibility)
• Proven experience supporting K-5th grade students with hearing impairments
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and understanding of assistive listening devices
• Strong collaborative skills for working with teachers, families, and support staff
• Ability to create and adapt Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs

Key Responsibilities:
