Step into a meaningful role supporting a high school student as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist for the upcoming 2026/2027 school year. This contract position offers the unique opportunity to make a direct impact through virtual services, providing targeted expertise where it’s needed most.
As the dedicated DHH professional, you will work one-on-one with a high school student for 10 hours each week, helping them overcome barriers and succeed academically. This position is approved for remote/virtual delivery, allowing you to provide exceptional support and guidance from a location that’s convenient for you.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Certification and/or credentialing as a Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
- Experience working with high school-aged students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Proficiency with technology and virtual learning platforms
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to develop individualized instructional strategies for student success
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and support in alignment with the student’s IEP
- Maintain regular communication with school staff, parents, and other team members
- Adapt lessons and materials to best fit the student’s learning style and goals
- Track and document student progress, addressing any challenges proactively
- Provide expertise on accessibility and appropriate accommodations
