Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Credentialed as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist or Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience with educational accommodations, audiology, and language development
- Effective communication skills, both spoken and signed
- Familiarity with classroom technology for accessibility
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Passion for empowering students with diverse communication needs
In this role, you will:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitor progress
- Collaborate with educators, speech-language pathologists, and other specialists
- Educate and advise teachers and parents on best practices for inclusion
- Advocate for student needs and facilitate their active participation in school life
- Adapt curriculum and classroom materials to optimize access for all learners
