Desired Qualifications:
- Certification as an Educational Diagnostician (or eligibility for certification)
- Experience working with students in grades 1-9 in diverse classroom or resource settings
- Strong understanding of special education laws, practices, and individualized education program (IEP) processes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to consult with teachers, families, and administrators
- Ability to conduct formal and informal assessments, analyze data, and develop reports
- Comfortable adapting to new school cultures and working flexibly within a contract role
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive educational assessments to identify student learning needs
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and collaborate on the development of IEPs
- Support classroom teachers by recommending instructional accommodations and modifications
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to colleagues, families, and other stakeholders
- Track student progress and assist in ongoing program planning and evaluation
- Serve as a resource on best practices for differentiated instruction for grades 1-9
