In this dynamic contract role, you’ll work in a vibrant school environment near Austin, TX, focusing primarily on a middle school campus while also lending expertise to elementary grades for bilingual evaluations. Your contribution will directly support both staff and students, helping ensure timely and accurate assessments.
Responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations, primarily in Spanish and English, for students referred for assessment
- Collaborating closely with school psychologists to analyze data and interpret results
- Assisting elementary schools with bilingual student assessments and providing culturally relevant recommendations
- Participating actively in team meetings; ARD facilitators handle organization and documentation, freeing you to focus on your expertise
- Supporting the school in catching up on initial evaluations, ensuring compliance and timely intervention
- Communicating results and recommendations thoughtfully to educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Maintaining accurate records and adhering to all compliance standards and timelines
Desired skills and qualifications:
- Certification as an Educational Diagnostician or eligibility for Texas certification
- Proficiency in Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing) to conduct bilingual assessments
- Experience working with school-aged children, ideally at the middle and/or elementary level
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and communicate clearly with diverse populations
- Familiarity with ARD/IEP procedures and special education law preferred
