Diagnostician Special Education Teacher - Crown Point, Indiana

We're seeking two skilled Educational Diagnosticians to serve schools across the county for the 26/27 school year. This is a contract opportunity offering the chance to collaborate with dedicated professionals within a dynamic educational environment. With a home base at the SELF school and travel between sites, you'll play a crucial role in student assessments and support programming.

Key Qualifications:

• Successful completion of state-required certification as an Educational Diagnostician
• Experience conducting psychoeducational and academic assessments in a school setting
• Understanding of federal and state regulations related to special education, eligibility, and IEP development
• Strong collaboration and consultation skills when working with teams, teachers, and families
• Ability to travel between sites within the county as needed
• Excellent organizational and communication skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive educational evaluations to determine eligibility for special education services
• Interpret assessment data, draft formal reports, and present findings to multidisciplinary teams
• Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to develop appropriate IEPs and individualized student plans
• Provide consultation and training to school staff regarding assessment tools, eligibility processes, and instructional strategies
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all legal and procedural requirements
• Serve as a resource for current best practices in psychoeducational evaluation
