Diagnostician Special Education Teacher - Garland, Texas

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid certification as an Educational Diagnostician
• Bilingual proficiency is required to effectively serve diverse student populations
• Previous experience working with PK-8th grade students preferred
• Strong understanding of special education laws, eligibility processes, and assessment tools
• Ability to manage caseloads of approximately 100 students with organization and professionalism
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with families, staff, and administrators

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive educational assessments for students referred for special education services
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to interpret evaluation results and develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Provide ongoing consultation and support to staff regarding best practices for interventions and accommodations
• Prepare detailed documentation and maintain accurate student records in compliance with state and federal guidelines
• Participate in ARD/IEP meetings, sharing assessment findings and helping guide team decisions
