Educational Diagnostician Special Education Teacher in Houston, TX

Full-time schedules are available, and you’ll be instrumental in identifying educational needs, collaborating with school teams, and shaping positive outcomes for learners across different age groups and campuses.

Multiple specialized roles are open, each with a focus tailored to the needs of students in elementary, middle, or early childhood (ECI) settings. You’ll work directly with dedicated teams and become a key resource across the district.

What we’re looking for:

• Valid Texas Educational Diagnostician Endorsement (verification required).
• Experience performing educational assessments, interpretations, and report writing.
• Strong communication and consultation skills with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Comfort working onsite in dynamic school environments.
• Adaptability to serve diverse student populations across all grade levels.
• Experience with play-based assessments and assessments for very young children (for ECI position).
• Ability to collaborate on ARDs, assist in student observations, and support IEP development.

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to determine eligibility for special education services.
• Administer and interpret assessment tools for students referred for special education.
• Participate in ARD meetings, share results, and provide expert recommendations.
• Work alongside school staff, families, and other specialists to maximize student success.
• For evaluation-focused positions, travel within the district for thorough, multi-level testing.
• For the ECI role, assess 2-3 year-olds as part of a supportive, interdisciplinary team.
