A contracted Educational Diagnostician/Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant (LDTC) role is available at a school in Paterson, NJ. This position is essential in supporting students in grades 5–8 by conducting comprehensive assessments and partnering with educators, parents, and Child Study Teams to develop and implement effective individualized education programs (IEPs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform formal and informal evaluations to assess student learning strengths and needs
  • Interpret assessment data and prepare detailed diagnostic reports for middle school students
  • Collaborate with Child Study Teams to develop, monitor, and update IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Provide direct and indirect instructional support, including modeling effective strategies in classrooms
  • Consult with general and special education teachers, offering professional development and coaching focused on evidence-based interventions, accommodations, and differentiated instruction
  • Act as a liaison for parents and guardians to clarify evaluation results and IEP decisions
  • Participate actively in CST meetings and manage evaluation procedures, ensuring adherence to timelines and legal requirements

Qualifications & Required Certification:

  • Must hold valid New Jersey licensure and certification for the LDTC role as mandated by state law

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Previous LDTC experience in a middle school environment (grades 5–8) preferred
  • Skilled in administering, interpreting, and reporting standardized assessments
  • Knowledgeable in evidence-based interventions such as multisensory reading programs and executive functioning supports
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach educators effectively
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on clear and empathetic communication with parents
