Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Louisiana Department of Education Educational Diagnostician Certification is required
  • School-based experience serving K-12 students preferred
  • Strong skills in assessment, evaluation, and creation of individualized education plans
  • Understanding of and compliance with special education laws and best practices
  • Ability to complete all required district credentialing, including background check and fingerprinting

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive educational and developmental assessments for students across grade levels, with a current emphasis on preschool evaluations
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, parents, and teachers to determine eligibility for special education services
  • Provide clear, detailed reports and recommend appropriate interventions and accommodations
  • Participate in meetings and contribute expertise to develop effective, student-centered education plans
  • Adapt to assignments as needed with the possibility of working at several schools
