Middle School High School Gen Ed Teacher - Alexandria, VA

Inspire curious minds and foster innovative thinking by teaching chess, robotics, and coding to elementary, middle, and high school students in a dynamic after-school enrichment program. This contract position offers the chance to work with K-12 learners in small groups, empowering them through creative problem-solving and interactive learning experiences. Sessions are held for 5-10 hours each week, typically during after-school hours (between 3-6pm), allowing for a flexible schedule.

You’ll have the opportunity to engage students across multiple campuses, commuting to sites in Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia. Your passion for education, technology, and strategy games will support diverse learners as they build valuable skills for the future.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (or current enrollment in a teaching-certification program preferred)
• Classroom or group instructional experience with K-12 students
• Proficiency in teaching chess strategies/rules, basic robotics, and introductory coding concepts
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Reliable transportation to commute to schools in DC, Maryland, and Virginia
• Flexibility to teach at varied times in the afternoon (between 3-6pm), with a commitment of 5-10 hours weekly

Key Responsibilities:
