Instruction will take place at various campuses, so a flexible approach to commuting throughout Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia is essential.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid teaching experience, particularly in General and/or STEM Education models
- Background working with K-12 students in group settings
- Proficiency in chess, robotics, and entry-level coding concepts
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to travel between multiple campuses in the DC metropolitan area
- Reliable transportation for short commutes in the region
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct after-school sessions (5-10 hours weekly) between 3-6pm, depending on campus scheduling
- Develop and deliver lessons that encourage creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork
- Engage students of varied ages and skill levels, adapting instruction as needed
- Support a positive, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment
- Collaborate with staff and coordinators to monitor student progress
