What you bring:
- Previous classroom experience as a general education teacher in elementary, middle, or high school settings
- A genuine enthusiasm for teaching chess, robotics, and/or coding to diverse age groups
- Strong communication skills to motivate and instruct students of varying abilities
- Reliable transportation with flexibility to commute to various campuses across Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia
- Comfort adapting to different school environments and collaborating with staff
- Organization and time management skills to balance responsibilities across multiple locations
What you’ll do:
- Lead engaging after-school sessions (5–10 hours per week, typically 3–6pm) for groups of students
- Create a fun, inclusive classroom culture where all learners feel valued
- Guide hands-on robotics and coding activities, teach foundational chess strategy, and encourage problem-solving
- Adapt lesson plans to varied grade levels (K–12) and student needs
- Foster a safe environment that sparks exploration and builds confidence
- Communicate effectively with school teams and families as needed
