This part-time Health & Physical Education Teacher position serves K-12 classrooms within multiple school districts in Lehigh County, PA. The role focuses on delivering engaging, standards-aligned instruction that fosters physical fitness, health literacy, and lifelong wellness among students. The position follows the school calendar, tentatively running from ASAP through June 12, 2026, averaging approximately 20 hours per week across three days.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement health and physical education lessons aligned with state standards
  • Promote physical fitness, motor skills development, teamwork, and healthy lifestyle habits
  • Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate diverse student needs and abilities
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback
  • Ensure classroom and equipment safety
  • Collaborate with school staff and maintain communication with families as appropriate

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Pennsylvania Instructional Certificate in Health & Physical Education PK–12 or Physical Education PK–12
  • Bachelor’s degree in Health, Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field
  • Experience teaching Health and Physical Education across K-12 grade levels
  • Strong knowledge of physical fitness principles and health education best practices
  • Ability to foster positive relationships with students, families, and school personnel

Location: This role is based in school districts across Lehigh County, PA, including Catasauqua, Parkland, and Salisbury. The IU main office is located in Schnecksville, PA.
