Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with state and district science standards
• Use formative assessments and differentiation to drive instruction and meet student needs
• Maintain a well-managed, inclusive classroom environment with effective behavioral strategies
• Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure comprehensive educational experiences
• Track student progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate regularly with families
• Participate in school meetings, trainings, and professional development
• Uphold all school policies and regulatory requirements

Qualifications:

• Active PA teaching certification or eligibility for emergency teaching permit (requires bachelor’s degree)
• Proven experience as a general education teacher, ideally in a middle school science classroom
• Background working successfully in urban school settings
• Demonstrated expertise in subject matter and instructional methods
• Reliable transportation for onsite attendance
• Comfort with district protocols and environment
• Ability to work a set schedule (Monday to Friday, 8:30AM-4PM, 35 hours weekly—no schedule accommodations)

Additional Details:

• Contract position from August 24, 2026, through June 10, 2027
• One full-time opening; zoom interviews required
