Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an Art endorsement for at least grades 5 and 6 (please ensure your licensure is current and meets these requirements).
- Experience teaching general education or art within upper elementary or middle grades strongly preferred.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Exceptional ability to connect with diverse learners and foster a nurturing, encouraging educational environment.
- A passion for helping students explore self-expression and build foundational art skills.
Role Responsibilities:
- Take charge of a 5th and 6th grade art classroom, designing engaging and developmentally appropriate lessons.
- Administer and grade tests, evaluate student progress, and maintain clear documentation of student performance.
- Deliver effective, standards-based direct instruction tailored to different learning styles.
- Collaborate with colleagues and administration to support schoolwide initiatives and student success.
- Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere where each child feels valued and inspired to participate.
Pay for this role ranges from $37.50 to $46.75 per hour, depending on experience, degree level, and licensure.
