English as a Second Language (ESL) 5th Grade General Education Teacher | Chicago, Illinois

You’ll work a full-time, 37.5 hours per week schedule from Monday through Friday, shaping lessons for diverse learners and empowering students during formative years of their educational journey.

What We’re Looking For:

• Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with ESL endorsement (must cover at least 5th–8th grade)
• Preference for bilingual PEL endorsement holders
• Experience in general education and ESL classroom instruction
• Solid classroom management skills and a commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for all students
• Ability to design, deliver, and adapt lessons that support both native and non-native English speakers

Responsibilities Include:

• Planning and leading engaging English Language and general education instruction across two campuses
• Administering, proctoring, and grading assessments to track student progress
• Developing differentiated learning strategies for a range of language proficiencies
• Fostering a supportive classroom atmosphere to nurture student growth and confidence
• Collaborating with fellow staff and school administrators to maximize student success
