Gen Ed Teacher - Des Plaines, IL

Step into a rewarding classroom setting and support the foundational years of learning as an Infant Montessori Teacher for children ages 0–3. In this contract role, you’ll nurture development, independence, and a love for discovery in a collaborative environment dedicated to Montessori principles.

Key Qualifications:

• MACTE-accredited Montessori Infant/Toddler Credential (AMS, AMI, or equivalent)
• Meets Illinois DCFS staff qualification requirements
• High school diploma or GED
• Understanding of human growth and development from birth through age three
• Familiarity with Montessori teaching methods and materials
• Experience with observation and assessment to identify and support developmental needs

Desired Experience and Skills:

• Leading individualized learning in a Montessori classroom
• Utilizing observation to adapt teaching approaches to each child’s pace and interests
• Fostering respectful, supportive, and culturally responsive relationships with children and families
• Managing classroom environments to promote safety, engagement, and autonomy

Role Overview:

• Create and maintain a nurturing, clean, and stimulating classroom environment
• Implement Montessori curriculum tailored to the developmental stages of infants and toddlers
• Observe, assess, and document children’s growth to support individualized learning paths
