This role offers the unique chance to engage inquisitive sixth and seventh graders with dynamic, curriculum-driven ELA instruction at a local STEM-focused school. In this position, you’ll teach one 7th grade ELA class and three 6th grade ELA classes, working with no more than 20 students total. You’ll have the support and resources needed to create meaningful lessons and support each student’s growth as a communicator and critical thinker. Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid South Carolina teaching license (elementary endorsements accepted)
- Experience or interest in teaching general education ELA at the middle grades
- Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills
- Ability to design engaging, differentiated lessons that meet diverse learning needs
- Commitment for the full contract, starting July 21, 2026 and ending May 27, 2027
Key Responsibilities:
- Instruct one 7th grade and three 6th grade ELA classes, fostering student engagement and literacy development
- Create and adapt lesson plans that build critical thinking and communication
- Assess student progress, provide ongoing feedback, and collaborate with colleagues as needed
- Encourage an inclusive, supportive classroom culture
- Attend staff meetings, trainings, and school events as required
