Social Studies General Education Teacher | Effingham, South Carolina

Exciting opportunity for an experienced General Education Teacher with a focus on Social Studies to make an impact in a supportive school environment! Serve as a Social Studies Teacher at the junior high level on a contract basis, teaching and inspiring students from now through May 21, 2027. This role offers a structured Monday through Friday schedule, 37.5 hours per week (7:15am – 2:45pm), perfect for educators passionate about helping students grow both academically and personally.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid and active teaching license in the state of South Carolina (SC certification is mandatory)
• Background in General Education and Social Studies instruction at the middle or junior high school level
• Strong classroom management, communication, and organization skills
• Ability to create inclusive, engaging lesson plans tailored to a diverse student population
• Prior experience with social studies curriculum design and student assessment preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging Social Studies instruction for approximately junior high grade caseload
• Develop and adapt curriculum materials to meet state standards and address varied learning needs
• Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records
• Collaborate professionally with colleagues, administrators, and families to support student achievement
• Create a positive classroom culture that fosters respect, curiosity, and critical thinking
