Qualifications & Skills Sought:

• Montessori Infant/Toddler Credential from a MACTE-accredited program (AMS, AMI, or equivalent)
• Meets Illinois DCFS staff qualification requirements
• High school diploma or GED (minimum)
• Understanding of human growth and development, particularly ages 0–3
• Familiarity with Montessori philosophy, teaching methods, and classroom materials
• Ability to observe, assess, and respond to individual developmental needs
• Adept at individualized instruction and classroom leadership
• Passion for cultivating a warm, inclusive, and culturally responsive environment

• Nurture a safe and stimulating classroom where infants and toddlers can thrive
• Implement Montessori curriculum, adapting to each child’s pace and interests
• Maintain careful observation notes and partner with families regarding each child’s development
