What You’ll Need:
- Master’s degree in Library Information Science
- Valid SCDE licensure with media specialist/librarian endorsement, or a reciprocal license from another state
- Proven experience with middle and/or high school students in a library or educational setting
- Strong organizational and communication abilities
- Skilled in integrating technology, research platforms, and library management systems
- Collaborative mindset and a passion for supporting diverse learners
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain an engaging, inclusive school library environment that encourages student curiosity and independent learning
- Guide students and staff in effective research strategies, digital literacy, and responsible use of information
- Curate print and digital collections to support curriculum goals and student interests
- Collaborate with teaching staff to integrate library resources into lesson planning
- Manage library operations, including circulation, cataloging, and inventory
- Organize events, reading challenges, and technology workshops to engage students school-wide
- Support students with varying abilities and backgrounds, fostering equitable access to information
