Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid teaching license in at least one of the following areas:
- Mathematics (PRAXIS 5161)
- Biology (PRAXIS 5235)
- Chemistry (PRAXIS 5235)
- General/Physical Science (PRAXIS 5135)
- Engineering/Industrial Technology (CTE Certification)
- Related STEM field (Considered on a case-by-case basis)
- Proven classroom experience as a general education teacher highly preferred
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect and motivate high school students
- Familiarity with current STEM curriculum and instructional best practices
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive STEM lesson plans tailored to diverse learners
- Instruct high school students in assigned STEM subjects, ensuring alignment with educational standards
- Foster an inclusive, productive classroom environment that encourages creativity and academic achievement
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support growth
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to design interdisciplinary projects and improve instructional strategies
