Make a lasting impact on students’ literacy skills by inspiring young minds as a Middle School English Language Arts teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Located in a vibrant community near Galivants Ferry, this contract opportunity places you at the heart of academic growth and discovery, empowering students to develop confidence and a lifelong love of reading and writing.

You will guide one 7th grade ELA class as well as three 6th grade ELA classes, directly supporting up to 20 students across your caseload. With robust administrative support and a collaborative school culture, you’ll have the resources you need to create engaging, meaningful lessons while maintaining meaningful connections with your students.

Qualifications:

  • Valid South Carolina teaching license (an elementary endorsement is sufficient)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
  • Previous experience teaching ELA in general education settings preferred
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Genuine enthusiasm for middle school education and student growth

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality ELA instruction for 6th and 7th grade students
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and productive classroom environment
  • Tailor lessons to meet diverse learning needs and abilities within a small caseload
  • Track student performance and maintain accurate records
  • Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and families to ensure student success
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives and professional development activities

This contract begins July 21, 2026, and concludes May 27, 2027, with a 37.5-hour workweek, offering you a clear timeline and structured schedule.
