As a General Education Teacher specializing in Social Studies, you will support students in developing critical thinking, historical awareness, and social understanding. Enjoy a consistent Monday–Friday schedule, totaling 37.5 hours per week. Choose between two schedule options: 7:30 AM–3:30 PM or 8:00 AM–4:00 PM.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Social Studies endorsement for at least 7th and 8th grade
  • Demonstrated experience teaching general education, ideally in middle school settings
  • Strong classroom management and lesson planning abilities
  • Knowledge of current best practices in Social Studies instruction
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues, adapt to student needs, and foster a respectful classroom environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead a 7th and 8th grade Social Studies classroom, fostering a supportive learning atmosphere
  • Deliver engaging, curriculum-based direct instruction
  • Administer, score, and analyze assessments
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that integrate state standards and promote student engagement
  • Communicate regularly with students, families, and staff about progress and expectations
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school activities as needed

Compensation is competitive, ranging from $37.50 to $46.75 per hour, based on your experience and degree level.
