5th/6th Grade Art Teacher
Soliant Education is hiring a full-time 5th/6th Grade Art Teacher for an onsite opportunity in Flossmoor, Illinois for the 2026–2027 school year. This education industry contract position offers the opportunity to inspire upper elementary students through engaging visual arts instruction while fostering creativity and artistic growth. The selected educator will become part of a supportive school environment dedicated to helping students develop both academic and creative skills.
Position Overview
This full-time assignment is scheduled for 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The teacher will provide art instruction to 5th and 6th grade students while creating a welcoming classroom that encourages creativity, collaboration, and artistic expression. Compensation ranges from $35.76 to $45.82 per hour, with pay determined by experience, education, and overall qualifications.
Responsibilities
The Art Teacher will manage all aspects of the classroom, including lesson planning, delivering engaging instruction, and maintaining a structured learning environment. Responsibilities include administering and grading assessments, evaluating student progress, preparing instructional materials, and incorporating a variety of artistic techniques into daily lessons. The educator will also communicate effectively with school staff and families while supporting students' academic and creative development throughout the school year.
Requirements
Candidates must possess a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an Art endorsement that covers at minimum 5th and 6th grade instruction. Previous classroom experience in an elementary or middle school setting is preferred, along with strong classroom management and communication skills. Compensation and Benefits
Soliant Education offers a competitive hourly pay range of $35.76 to $45.82, based on experience and qualifications.
