Science Gen Ed Teacher - Gretna, LA

Inspire high school students through engaging science instruction in a thriving educational environment near Gretna, LA! This contract position offers the chance to foster curiosity and critical thinking skills in tomorrow’s future leaders while working full-time, 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, in accordance with the traditional school calendar. You’ll be part of a dedicated faculty, with specific school assignments and caseloads to be determined.

Qualifications:

• Active Louisiana Department of Education teaching certificate (REQUIRED). Please note: TAT (Temporary Authority to Teach) or Teaching Authorizations are not accepted. All applicants must possess a full teaching certificate and be ready to start.
• Teaching experience in general education science preferred; high school experience is a plus.
• Ability to meet credentialing and compliance standards, including district-required drug screening and fingerprinting.
• Enthusiasm for delivering innovative and effective science lessons and building strong relationships with students.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement science curriculum aligned with state standards for high school students.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that supports diverse learning needs.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and intervention when needed.
• Collaborate with colleagues, counselors, and support staff to optimize student success.
• Maintain accurate documentation, grading, and records as required by the district.
