Desired Qualifications:

  • Active Louisiana Department of Education certification (Temporary Authority to Teach not accepted)
  • Prior experience teaching general education science at the high school level
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and inspire students across diverse backgrounds
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Capability to quickly integrate into new settings and adapt to school-specific protocols
  • Ability to meet time-sensitive credentialing requirements, including drug screening and fingerprinting as per district mandates

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, standards-based science curriculum to high school students
  • Develop, implement, and adapt lesson plans to accommodate different learning styles
  • Assess and track student progress, providing timely feedback and academic support
  • Foster an inclusive and positive learning environment
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and parents to support student achievement
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and required district activities

What to Expect:

  • Full academic-year assignment: August 3, 2026, through May 27, 2027
  • Monday through Friday schedule, 35 hours per week (7-hour days plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch)
  • School assignments and caseload details to be determined
