ESL Teacher in Gretna, LA

Make a difference as an impactful General Education and ESL Teacher in the vibrant New Orleans area! This rewarding contract opportunity invites you to inspire and support students as you guide them through the school year. You'll work full time, 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, according to the school calendar. In this role, you'll empower students developing English language skills while collaborating with a dedicated educational team. Your work will shape the future for learners in a supportive and engaging environment.

Qualifications:

• Current, active Louisiana DOE certification (Temporary Authority to Teach not accepted)
• Proven classroom experience as a General Education and/or ESL Teacher
• Strong communication skills and cultural responsiveness
• Ability to adapt teaching to meet diverse student learning styles
• Must successfully complete required credentialing including drug screening and district fingerprinting

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality instruction to general and ESL student populations across assigned schools
• Create and implement lesson plans aligned with school curriculum and standards
• Support language acquisition and academic progress for English learners
• Foster an inclusive, positive classroom atmosphere encouraging participation and growth
• Assess student progress and adjust instruction as needed to ensure student success
• Collaborate with fellow educators, support staff, and families
• Maintain classroom records and adhere to school procedures

Contract Details:

• Full time: 35 hours/week; Monday–Friday with a 30-minute unpaid lunch
• Assignment dates: ASAP through May 27, 2027
• Assignment to specific number of schools and caseload to be determined
