Qualifications:

• Possession of an active Louisiana DOE Teaching Certificate (submissions holding only a Teaching Authorization or Temporary Authority to Teach cannot be accepted)
• Demonstrated classroom teaching experience, preferably in high school science
• Readiness to complete necessary district credentialing steps, including drug screening and fingerprinting
• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management abilities
• Enthusiastic approach to curriculum delivery and student engagement

Responsibilities:

• Provide science instruction to high school students, fostering curiosity and critical thinking
• Prepare and deliver lessons that align with state standards and school objectives
• Assess student progress, maintain accurate records, and provide constructive feedback
• Collaborate with school staff and participate in team meetings or professional development as needed
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and faculty to support student achievement
• Adapt and differentiate instruction to meet varying academic needs

The position is full-time, with 35 hours per week (Monday-Friday), each day comprised of seven instructional hours plus a 30-minute lunch break. Number of assigned schools and specific caseload details will be determined upon placement.
