Ignite creativity in young minds as an Art Teacher or Teaching Assistant at multiple school sites in the Horseheads, NY region. This contract opportunity will have you traveling between different schools throughout the week, fostering artistic growth and supporting educational teams from September 8, 2026, through June 25, 2027, with potential for renewal if it's a great fit.

What You’ll Do:

  • Teach engaging art lessons or provide support in the classroom setting, nurturing a love for creativity and self-expression among students.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators, participating in planning and assessment, and helping to create a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
  • Travel between campuses in Hornell, Greenwood, and Bath, tailoring your approach to meet the needs of diverse student groups.
  • Maintain a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning and development, supporting students‘ individual and collective artistic goals.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid New York State Art Teacher Certification or Teaching Assistant Certificate.
  • Experience working in general education or with paraprofessional responsibilities in a school setting is highly valued.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability, with the ability to connect with students at varying age and developmental levels.
  • Reliable transportation to commute among multiple sites during the school week.

What You’ll Gain:

  • Certified Art Teachers receive between $38-$40 per hour. Teacher's Assistants are paid $20-$22 per hour.
