Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging math instruction, demonstrating deep content knowledge and effective teaching strategies
- Develop and implement detailed lesson plans aligned with current state and district standards
- Use formative assessments and differentiated instruction to drive student learning and address individual needs
- Manage a full classroom with strong behavioral and classroom management skills, creating a safe and productive environment
- Adapt to the daily needs of students in an urban setting, exhibiting cultural competence and a commitment to educational equity
- Collaborate professionally with fellow teachers, administrators, and families as part of the broader school community
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and other required documentation
- Meet all assigned duties and obligations, and participate in meetings and professional development
Qualifications:
- Active and valid certification or licensure suitable for the assigned 7th grade math caseload
- Bachelor’s degree required (or eligibility for emergency teaching permit with degree)
- Prior experience in school settings, particularly within urban environments
- Demonstrated strength in classroom management and student engagement
- Reliable transportation to ensure punctual, onsite attendance (8:00 AM – 3:15 PM)
- Successful completion of all required PA clearances
- Comfort and adaptability for urban district and middle school setting
- Willing to complete a Zoom interview during the selection process
