Science Gen Ed Teacher - Metairie, Louisiana

Key Qualifications:

• Active Louisiana DOE teaching certificate (required). Temporary Authority to Teach (TAT) or Teaching Authorization (TA) will not be accepted.
• Background in general education science instruction at the high school level.
• Ability to quickly integrate into a school community and establish rapport with students and staff.
• Commitment to meeting all district credentialing requirements, including drug screening and fingerprinting.
• Ready availability to start as soon as possible and continue through the end of the school year (through May 27, 2027).
• Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver science curriculum to high school students aligned with state and district standards.
• Create engaging lesson plans that accommodate diverse learners and support academic growth.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
• Collaborate with fellow educators, administrators, and parents to promote student success.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and required school activities.
• Adhere to district policies, including all credentialing and safety protocols.
