Middle School Elementary Gen Ed Teacher - Naval Anacost Annex, District of Columbia

Spark creativity and foster critical thinking as a part-time instructor specializing in Chess, Robotics, and Coding for students in grades K-12. Inspire learners across elementary, middle, and high school levels during engaging after-school sessions. You’ll work on contract, delivering innovative programs that equip students with problem-solving skills and a passion for STEM and strategic games.

This position offers flexible, part-time hours after school, typically between 3:00–6:00 pm, for approximately 5-10 hours each week. You will have the unique opportunity to reach students on multiple campuses in Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia, expanding your teaching impact throughout the region.

Qualifications:

• Experience teaching general education at elementary, middle, or high school levels
• Strong knowledge and enthusiasm for Chess, Robotics, and Coding curriculum
• Ability to inspire and engage diverse groups of children and adolescents
• Reliable transportation with flexibility to commute among locations in DC, Maryland, and Virginia
• Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills

Role Responsibilities:

• Lead interactive after-school sessions focused on chess, robotics, or coding
• Adapt lessons and activities to meet the needs of various ages and skill levels
• Foster a supportive, adventurous, and inclusive learning environment
• Track attendance and student skill progress, providing constructive feedback
• Collaborate with other educators to develop vibrant, interdisciplinary curriculum
