We're searching for an enthusiastic part-time teacher to inspire K-12 students across multiple campuses in the Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia area. In this flexible contract position, you'll engage students after school, helping them unlock critical thinking and problem-solving skills through hands-on activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate engaging Chess, Robotics, and Coding lessons for elementary, middle, and high school students
  • Lead interactive, small group sessions after school (between 3-6pm), fostering curiosity and collaboration
  • Adapt teaching strategies for varying age groups and learning needs
  • Provide positive mentorship, guiding students as they explore technology and strategy
  • Travel between approximately 10 different campuses as needed (transportation required)
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching general education classes; comfort working with K-12 students
  • Passion for Chess, Robotics, and Coding – previous instruction experience is a plus
  • Flexibility to commit to 5-10 hours per week post-school hours
  • Ability to commute throughout DC, Maryland, and Virginia as required
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Creativity in lesson planning and the ability to motivate students
  • Enthusiastic, organized, and dependable
