Science Gen Ed Teacher - New Orleans, Louisiana

This contract opportunity allows an experienced General Education Science Teacher to make a difference in local high schools, guiding students through engaging curriculum and hands-on exploration. You'll work full time, 35 hours per week, following the school calendar from now until May 27, 2027.

Qualifications:

• Active Louisiana Department of Education teaching certificate required (no TAT or TA accepted)
• Ready for immediate start—must be fully credentialed, with all state and district certification steps completed
• Successful drug screen and district fingerprint clearance required prior to assignment
• Experience teaching high school science or comparable adolescent science education preferred
• Strong classroom management skills, with a passion for student engagement and success
• Ability to adapt lessons, foster inquiry, and maintain a dynamic learning environment

Responsibilities:

• Deliver standards-aligned science instruction to high school students
• Create a positive classroom atmosphere that motivates and supports diverse learners
• Develop and implement lesson plans, labs, and assessments
• Monitor academic progress, offering individual or small group support as necessary
• Collaborate with fellow educators, administrators, and families to promote student achievement
• Participate in school-based meetings and ongoing professional development opportunities
• Maintain accurate student records as required by the school district
