Step into an exciting contract opportunity as a General Education Science teacher in a vibrant high school environment near New Orleans, LA. This full-time role begins August 3, 2026, and extends through May 27, 2027, aligning with the school calendar and offers 35 hours per week (Monday through Friday), with daily 30-minute unpaid lunch breaks.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active Louisiana Department of Education Certification (DOE Cert) required
- District cannot accept candidates with Temporary Authority to Teach (TAT); must be fully licensed prior to start
- Previous high school science teaching experience strongly preferred
- Ability to clear district-specific background screenings, including drug screening and district fingerprinting, in addition to standard credentialing
- Adaptability to fast-paced environments and eagerness to work with diverse student populations
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging science instruction to high school students, following established curriculum guidelines
- Utilize effective teaching strategies to meet a variety of learning needs and styles
- Assess, track, and report on student progress
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and school personnel to support student success
- Maintain an inclusive, productive classroom environment
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and required professional development
