Science Gen Ed Teacher - New Orleans, LA

Desired Professional Experience & Qualifications:

• Current, active Louisiana Department of Education teaching certification (General Science; Temporary Authority to Teach certifications are not accepted)
• Proven experience or background in teaching general science at the high school level
• Ability to quickly integrate into established curricula and school culture, demonstrating adaptability and initiative
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
• Prepared to complete both district-mandated and agency credentialing, including drug screen and fingerprint clearance

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality general science instruction to high school students, promoting critical thinking and engagement
• Prepare and adapt lesson plans aligned with state standards and district guidelines
• Assess student progress regularly, providing feedback and intervention as necessary
• Collaborate with fellow educators, support staff, and administration to foster a positive, inclusive learning environment
• Participate in ongoing professional development and maintain accurate records according to district protocols

This full-time position consists of 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch and follows the school’s schedule. The exact caseload and campus assignment will be confirmed upon placement.
